Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play?

Fuck, fuck, fuck-a-duck,
Screw a kangaroo.
Finger-bang ourangatan,
An orgy at the zoo. Whoo!

Got my stats test results. [info]octogirlie, this has been a shit week for test results. After he curved the test, I got a 58. Good, solid, F.

I'm upset, I'm nervous, I'm pissed off, I'm.....ARGH!!!!

I meet with the prof tomorrow afternoon. If my number-crunching during class (when I couldn't concentrate) is correct, I would need a 100% on the final to pull a D. If this is the case...I would have to retake the class. If I have to retake the class, I don't know if I can do it this summer, with four NEEDED classes already registered for (Midwestern grammar comes into play right now, I don't care what I leave dangling). If I can't or don't take the class this summer, I would take it in the fall. Which would me not graduating until December.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

*pantbreathepant* I feel better now.

Nothing I can do now. Time to calm down, maybe have some alcohol, and go read more Balance of Power, a great FMA fanfic that's my new obsession. And maybe work on some plot thoughts that came to me this afternoon for a FMA/Serenity crossover fic. *headexplodes* Yeah, you read that right. It's so scary but could work REALLY well. The scariest thought of them all that flittered through my head? Ed/Jayne. *restofbodyexplodes*

*gives you a paper bag*

*gives you some chocolate and alcoholic beverage of your choice*

*gives you a hug*

I have found the best thing to do in this situation is what you're doing. No, not exorcizing your plot bunnies- talking to your professor. That way they'll know you're serious, and not some dumb kid they'll be seeing back in class next semester. Take it from me, I was supposed to graduate over a year ago! =p

Thanks. Chocolate is being consumed as I type. Some alcohol was drank(drunk?) last night. I know it won't kill me if I don't graduate this summer - I'm with you, I should've graduated a looooong time ago. It's just uber-frustrating, I was/am thisclose. Bah.

Thanks...chocolate is being consumed as I type. Osco had these chocolate egg thingys for Easter by Russell Stover - it's like a Turtle Egg. Chocolate+caramel+pecans=almost solves my problems.

I'm not that hopeful about the talk this afternoon. The prof is very straightforward on grading, there's zero extra credit, and he does not do incompletes. My only hope is I somehow mismarked my points, and I suddenly have 50 more points than I thought. :-/

well...that *doesn't* sound terribly encouraging. still, though...would he be able to give you some tips that would make the final ace-able (or at least, more so?)

also, i hatehatehatehateHATE classes in which your entire grade is based on tests. some people don't test well. or what if you have ONE bad day? why not have assignment grades? quizzes? class participation? i know that math is pretty "either you have the answer or you don't" and doesn't lend itself to discussion or papers or those kind of things. but still, basing an entire semester's worth of learning on a mid-term and a final seems to me to be the mark of a professor who is trying to avoid the work that comes with grading assignments. grrr.

I know. The last time I tried taking Stats it was with an evilprof like that - only a midterm and a final w/ no graded homework. This prof I like quite a bit - weekly quizzes, four tests throughout the term, no cumulative final (it's just the last test). What happened was the prof was out for a few weeks and we had, not even a full professor, but some tutor-person come in and try to teach us what Dr. L would've. I didn't get it. At all. The last test was given like our usual tests, with the same goals expected out of us as before, though Dr. L did say he would do something to balance out the scores. He did, only 3 people got A's with that scoring, and I got my 58.

It's disappointing and a bit heartbreaking, but I knew last week I did poorly on the test. I'll know in about three hours what will happen. *whimper*

well...my fingers will remain crossed that the prof might show some mercy. i mean, (a) he sounds like a relatively cool guy, and (b) it sounds like there were some extenuating circumstances -- not just for you, but for the vast majority of the class. it's probably a slim chance, but still.
